Abandoned Too!

Up Valley View Development Roadway Abandoned Houses Abandoned Too! NPS Picnic Facility Mosquito City Innocent Acts?

More pictures of property bought by the National Park Service and then abandoned! If this is the definition of a view shed, we've "scene" [sic] enough!

The NPS bought this house, put a new roof on it, then let it deteriorate to a deplorable "scenic" condition as seen in this picture.

An UPDATE (Posted December 29, 2001): The NPS DEMOLISHED the house just this year finally after years of it being an eyesore in the New River Gorge (and only after pictures of that eyesore were publicized by New River Friends.)  Thank you very much for your hard earned tax dollars!. It's now a very expensive empty lot.  Prior to it's demolition it was surrounded by yellow tape advising the public 'No trespassing"! (Your tax dollars bought it.....don't even think about using it!). Cost to taxpayers, over $87,000.00.

An Update: (Posted December 29, 2001): The NPS put a nice chain link fence around this property, allowed the property to weed strangle, deteriorate, become an eyesore...... It's now an  empty lot owned by the NPS......thank you again for your tax dollars!
